Excalibur Solutions, Inc. was incorporated in May 1993 as a software development contracting service providing custom hardware accelerated graphics drivers for the emerging Windows and SVGA environments. During this time Excalibur was significantly involved in the development of the SVGA video BIOS extensions as an active member of the VESA standards committee and worked onsite with Microsoft, Lotus, WordPerfect, AutoDesk, Pixar, CADKEY, and others to develop high performance, high resolution graphics software.
During the evolution of high resolution 3D graphics hardware Excalibur helped develop programmable logic numeric coprocessor technology to make very high speed programmable logic based digital filters. Excalibur worked with a Moscow based software development team to provide a complete VHDL development environment with and IDE, complex fitters, and VHDL compiler.
In 1997 Excalibur developed the world's first biometric (fingerprint) preboot authentication system for Veridicom which lead to a multitude of projects in the biometric, network security, and encryption industries that continue to this day. Excalibur has developed preboot BIOS-based user authentication and mass storage software for major OEMs in the PC industry including Lenovo, Fujitsu, Acer, HP, Compaq, Sharp, Toshiba, Panasonic, Hitachi, Wave Systems, IDT, and others. In addition, Excalibur has developed numerous fingerprint products for hotels, safes, automobiles, PDA-phones, USB attached devices, healthcare, and several government agencies.
As time passed Excalibur partnered with Syvax Design to develop PCBs and provide more extensive prototyping and engineering services to assist inventors realize their ideas. The Excalibur team has since been serving Silicon Valley startups and other OEMs around the world.
